Whether you are looking for a reliable Kapwing vs CapCut review, or simply shopping around for an easy-to-use, cost-effective video editing tool, you’ve come to the right place.
Before we start…
Let me assure you that I am not affiliated with either of these companies.
I’m just a guy who loves tech and productivity.
Therefore, my primary consideration for choosing a video editing software was its simplicity.
You see, I didn’t want to have to go back to school to get a degree in video editing.
I just wanted to be able to polish up my videos as quickly as possible.
After a lot of research, I settled on an online video editing tool.
This meant I could just edit my videos on the “cloud,” which was an attractive feature. 👌
Needless to say, creating professional-looking videos with this cloud-based tool was a breeze, so I upgraded to their paid version. 💵😁
We had an amazing relationship for about a year; but now…
I’m planning to cancel it because I’ve discovered something better that sped up my workflow—and it’s 66.71% cheaper! 🤯
Take a look at the video I produced with minimal video editing experience:
While you might not find the result impressive, it’s worth noting that I have no formal video editing training, and the fact that I managed to create this video highlights the user-friendliness of the tool.
With that being said…
Kapwing Vs CapCut: The Winner Revealed
With this new tool (new to me 😁), I not only slashed my costs by 66.71% but also joyously crowned CapCut as my ultimate video editing tool!🏆
So, what gives CapCut the edge?
I’ll tell you.
-
It offers a wider range of creative animations, transitions and text effects.💫
-
The timeline is easier to navigate, which helps make the editing process smoother.
-
Adding an image behind my head was a breeze and really brought out the best in my video 💪
-
Working with captions was more intuitive and helped speed up my editing workflow.
-
The desktop version provided a stable editing environment with minimal disruptions.
-
There’s a mobile app and online version available, which adds convenience.
-
The free version is fully loaded with all pro assets and effects, giving you a good feel for its capabilities without a monetary commitment.
Taking everything into account…
After my experience with CapCut, I’ve come to realize that Kapwing might be a bit overpriced (I’ll reveal the prices shortly)…
On the other hand, could it be that CapCut is just exceptionally well-priced? 🤔
My Top 3 Tips for Getting Started With CapCut:
Tip #1: Turn on “Free layer”
With Free layer turned on, you can rearrange layers by dragging and dropping them on the timeline; the sequence determines their visibility (refer to the related image).
Tip #2: Turn on Proxy to Avoid Freezes
Initially, I encountered repetitive freezes while editing my video.
But after some digging, I discovered this was a common issue.
Here’s the fix:
1️⃣ Navigate to the “Details” panel on the right side of your project window.
2️⃣ Click “Modify” and then select the “Performance” tab.
3️⃣ Turn on the Proxy and set the resolution to 720p.
No worries, my friend, your final video will still render in high definition.
Tip #3: Beware of the Pro Tags
The free version of CapCut comes fully loaded with Pro features.
However, be cautious with assets marked with a “Pro” tag, as you’ll need to upgrade to export your video.
Good news though…
CapCut Pro is a bargain at $7.99 a month, compared to Kapwing’s $24/mo. 💸
Kapwing Vs CapCut: Final Verdict
The Kapwing Vs CapCut showdown was a clear first-round knockout. 🥊
While both platforms share similarities, CapCut takes the lead with its richer feature set, greater intuitiveness, and wider device compatibility.
Ironically, you’d expect CapCut Pro to be the one with the $24 per month price tag.
To sum it up…
If you want to create professional-grade videos without breaking the bank and with a minimal learning curve, CapCut is your go-to.
Reminder: I have no affiliation with CapCut, I just really like their service!🎬
That’s all for now, fam! ❤️☮️
